Medical/Community Interpreter Training
Ever wonder what you need to become a qualified medical interpreter?
The first step to becoming a nationally certified medical interpreter is to take a 40-hour training course such as the one we offer at Midwest Language Network. Our course does not make you a certified interpreter—it is a prerequisite for taking the national certification exams, which MLN does not provide. Take the first step with us!
Requirements to be able to take the MLN interpreter training:
- Must be at least 18 years old

- Must have at least a U.S. high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent from another country.

- Must possess linguistic fluency in English and the primary language which you are seeking training for.

- Pass a Language Assessment Exam with minimum of 75% accuracy.

Midwest Language Network's medical/community interpreter training program will teach you the ins and outs of medical and community interpreting, helping you to understand the roles, responsibilities, and best practices for medical/community interpreting. With the MLN training program, we not only provide critical knowledge and practice but also give you guidance toward obtaining a job and thriving in it.
After you have passed the training course, you will be able to describe yourself as a qualified interpreter.
